sea products VALVE & ACTUATOR CONTROLS - COUPLINGS AND EXPANSIONS
To connect control rods and shafting or to connect to other fittings some form of couplings are required,
Two standard types of couplings are produced; Muff coupling for permanent joining, and Disconnecting coupling when the facility to disconnect parts of an installed control system is required.
Expansion couplings are required in control rod systems to allow for expansion or movement between structurally mounted fittings such as gearboxes or terminal control units, in fact any control rod with universal joints at either end must have some form of expansion between them. Expansions couplings can be used to axial movements of actuators and valve spindles.
Chadburns-Mollart PT produce various models of these couplings with long and short expansion movement, lubricated, and sealed all in a range of materials.
